Annaatthe Movie Review: Rajinikanth’s film is a snooze-fest

Superstar Rajinikanth is a phenomenon and that’s an understatement. It has been over a year since we saw Thalaivar on the big screen. In 2020, his film, Darbar, was released in theatres and was called one of the weakest films, strictly made for Thalaivar’s fans.

Now, Rajinikanth is back with Annaatthe and he was in prime form, here as well.

Kaalaiyan AKA Annaatthe (Rajinikanth) is a panchayat president, who is Mr Goody-two-shoes. He loves his sister, Thanga Meenatchi (Keerthy Suresh). They are willing to go to any extent for each other. One day, Kaalaiyan decides to fix an alliance for Meenatchi and asks her permission. She agrees at first but elopes a day before her wedding.

The story then shifts to Kolkata, where Meenatchi faces trouble after trouble. But, her brother stands by her like a protective shield without her knowing it. What happened to Meenatchi? Why is she facing problems? How does Kaalaiyan help her? These questions are answered in a course of 2 hours and 43 minutes.
