Civilian shot dead in cross-firing between CRPF, terrorists in J&K’s Babapora

Acivilian was reportedly killed on Sunday in cross-firing between the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and terrorists in Babapora, Zainapora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to officials, the CRPF party was out for area domination when terrorists fired upon them. The CRPF team retaliated against the attack, and one person was killed during cross-firing.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian said, “Around 10:30 hrs, unidentified terrorists attacked a Naka party of 178 Bn, CRPF at Babapora, Shopian. CRPF retaliated the fire and during cross firing one unidentified person got killed. Further details are being ascertained.”

Slain civilian has been identified as Shahid Ahmad, son of Ajaz Ahmad. Shahid Ahmad, a milkman, was a resident of Bijbehara.
