Uttarakhand Board of School Education also called as Uttarakhand Vidhyalaya Shiksha Parishad and was established September 22, 2001 at Head quarters of Ramnagar, It regulates, controls and developers, secondary education and Higher Secondary education in the state. It provides varied courses in orders to equip students for different occupations to prepare them for university education and to equip them for university education and to equip them for various culture purposes. Due to the increasing number of students per year, the work load is also increased and the board is handling all the academic matters related with framing of syllabus for all the classes X, XI,XII. It examines those who have completed a prescribed course, study and awards certificates to the successful candidates. 

Today the board is entrusted to meet the demands of modern day education which has undergone rapid change in a highly globalized environment. We cannot remain aloof and have to be a part of the change.In the intense competitive environment we are pacing ourselves with contemporary thoughts. We are encouraging the use of technology and conducting regular training programs for our staff as well as thousands of teachers who are the linchpin of the education system. The board also provides affiliation to many schools in all over the state.

Responsibilities of the Board

1.Grant and withdraw recognition to the Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.

2. To make necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of public examination at school level. At present the Board conducts public examinations at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary Level.

3. To prescribe the curriculum, courses of studies and text books for school education. The Board has a full- fledged academic wing, having subject experts in all the major subjects

4. The main responsibility of this wing is to prepare and revise the syllabuses regularly and then prepare text books accordingly.

5. To arrange for the preparations, compilation, improvement, publication, printing and sale of text books.

6. To make necessary arrangements for affiliations of schools to the Board.

7. To make efforts to bring about qualitative improvement in school education.

8. To act as an advisory body to the state Govt. regarding School Education this Act.

9. Declare the results of the candidates at the final examination.

The above table shows the number of candidates appeared in the final examination, total pass percentage of girls, total pass percentage of girls and overall pass percentage of 10th results. In the year 2016, an number of students appeared for the examination 1,67,022 which 79.30 were boys and 80.15 were girls and the overall percentage is 79.45.  While are talking about the year 2017 for the same thing a number  of students appeared for the examination 1,50,573 which 70.12 were boys and 74.49 were girls and the overall percentage is 73.67.

The Board has ventured to conduct the Supplementary examination for the failed candidate of the examination of March in June month of every year itself, this will enable the students who would be successful in the June examination to join higher education courses in the same academic year from July itself. According to official notification, the candidates who have failed to clear the exam can submit their examination form and fee for compartment examination.

The Uttarakhand Secondary Board will be released Uttarakhand Board Result 2023 along with the total pass percentage of the students, who have written the 10th along with pass percentage of the students of Boys and girls separately, state wise merit list, top-10 number scores and name and state wide top-10 numbers scores and Names. The result contain a name, roll number, father name, total marks, grade…etc. Candidates can check the result SMS or online modes. The original mark sheet and passing certificate would be collected from the respective colleges / schools.
