2nd PUC Exam Time table 2019
The Department of Pre-University , Karnataka State Government is the organization for implementation of Higher Secondary Education in the state, we foundation under the Department of Primary and Secondary Education.There are 1202 Government and 937 Aided, Pre University colleges, 165 bifurcate pre university colleges and 13 corporation PUC Colleges.The main aims of the Board shall be to provide Senior secondary education and, for this purpose grant recognition to the required number of such schools in the territory, to pay special attention to the improvement of the higher secondary education so that it meets the required needs and standards of economic and social development.
After Xth standard every year about 10 lakhs students enroll in the 2-Year Pre University courses. The board is handling all the academic matters related with framing of syllabus for all the classes of Pre University Course, for prescribing courses of studies for such examinations and for recommending for recognition of Government and Private schools to the state government and for carrying out such other duties assigned to the council by the state Govt from time to time. The courses offered by the Department are broadly classified under the categories of Humanities (Arts), Science and Commerce . There are 23 subjects, 11 languages and 50 combinations in the Pre University curriculum. The Board conducts the examination each year and provide the certification to qualified students. Responsibilities of the Board
- Grant and withdraw recognition to the Higher Secondary Schools.
- Advise the government on matters of policy relating Higher secondary education in general and other matters.
- Lay down guiding principles regarding curricula and syllabus for entire secondary and higher secondary courses and to prepare the detailed syllabus for all standards of 11th and 12th.
- Advise the Government in standard requirement in respect of staff, buildings, furniture, equipment , stationery and other amenities required for PUC schools.
- Prescribe and prepare text-books for all standards of higher secondary educations.
- Prescribe conditions for admission of regular and private candidates to the final examinations.
