Afghanistan vs Pakistan: Rashid Khan fastest bowler to pick 100 T20I wickets, breaks Lasith Malinga’s record

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan on Friday broke Lasith Malinga’s long-standing record to become the fastest bowler to pick 100 wickets in T20 international cricket but his efforts with the ball went in vain as they couldn’t get over the line against Pakistan in their World Cup Super 12 clash.

Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez became Rashid’s 100th T20I victim in his 53rd innings.

Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga had held the previous record by completing his century in 76 matches ahead of New Zealand seamer Tim Southee (82) and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (83). They are also the only four bowlers to bag 100 wickets in the shortest format of international cricket.
