Ahead of UP polls, PM Modi takes Purvanchal’s pulse with 6 public meetings in 4 months

As the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls draw closer, the BJP is in election mode, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi helming political campaigning with a special focus on Purvanchal.

With PM Modi addressing six public meetings in Purvanchal, the saffron party is leaving no stone unturned to boost its poll prospects and woo voters in the vital region even before the announcement of the assembly election dates.

The prime minister began cultivating Purvanchal right from from his visit to Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, on July 15. Next, on September 14, he laid the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap University during his visit to Aligarh.

PM Modi also participated in the Urban Conclave programme organised in Lucknow on October 5. He then reached Kushinagar on October 20, where the people of Purvanchal were given the gift of an international airport as well as development projects worth Rs 478.74 crore.
