Alternate road on Dehradun-Rishikesh highway swept away amid heavy rain | Video

An alternate street that was opened on the Dehradun-Ranipokhari-Rishikesh freeway in Uttarakhand to facilitate the motion of automobiles was washed away as a consequence of heavy rainfall.

Heavy rainfall lashed the world on Monday evening, following which large floods washed away the street.

This street was opened as an alternate route for car motion after part of Ranipokhari flyover, which connects Dehradun to Rishikesh, collapsed.

A video shared by information company ANI on Tuesday confirmed the street swept away by floodwaters. A car will also be seen swept alongside in fast paced currents.

The Dehradun-Rishikesh bridge collapsed close to Rani Pokhari village on August 27. A video of the incident confirmed a truck turning turtle and different automobiles stranded as a river continued to move beneath the damaged bridge.
